Our Story

Crafted in our home, for yours.

For over 25 years, Bric-a-Brac has made objects that bring beauty and usefulness to everyday living. Our story begins with a love of Indian craft, the outdoors and the warmth of a home that welcomes people in.

A founder with a love of making

Neelum Saigal, founder of Bric-a-Brac

Founder Neelum Saigal describes herself as an accidental entrepreneur. Her inspiration comes from India's local arts and handicrafts, and from her mother's coffee mornings in their childhood home in Calcutta, where she learned the joy of hosting.

Encouraged by a friend to turn her creativity into a small venture, Neelum began combining craft traditions in new, practical ways. Her belief remains simple: beautiful, functional objects can make everyday moments feel special.

Beauty with a purpose

A plate should feel as good to use as it looks on the table. A basket should bring order as well as texture. From ceramics and wooden flatware to woven home accents, our pieces are designed around the moments people share at home.

The hands behind the work

Our studio workshop in Manesar, Gurgaon, works with a small team of craftspeople. We draw on traditions across India, including bamboo weaving from the East and sheesham craftsmanship from the Northern plains.

Handmade details and gentle variations are part of each piece's character, a reminder of the people and materials behind it.

A language of materials

Glazed terracotta, cane, bamboo and sheesham wood have shaped Bric-a-Brac's collections. Their textures meet in pieces that connect the home with the natural world.

25+ years of craft · UNESCO Seal 2006 · Artisans across India

In 2006, our tableware combining glazed terracotta with cane and wood received the UNESCO Seal of Excellence. That same year, the products were exhibited at the UNESCO stall at Maison et Objet in Paris.

A new chapter: Reborn Free

The care you know from our ceramics continues in Reborn Free, our collection made with recycled yarn. Woven colour and texture offer another way to bring craft into the home, with the same attention to function and handmade detail.

Where our work has travelled

Our team has exhibited at Kala Ghoda in Mumbai, India Story in Kolkata and the Dastkar Design Mela in New Delhi. These gatherings connect our work with people who value craft and the stories behind it.
